The Munford FFA Chapter has organized a GoFFA Program in which the students are given the opportunity to travel throughout the World. The theme of the program is "Putting Culture in Agriculture". Last year, Mrs. Ashley Bringle organized a trip to Costa Rica for our first trip of the program. It was a huge success and the students benefited tremendously. Our plan is to offer an International Trip every other year with a Continental USA Trip on the alternating years; therefore, this year we will be traveling to the Southwest Region of our country. We want to open the students eyes to what agricutlure has to offer here in the United States.
We will be taking a charter bus traveling to: (see attached itinerary for more details)
125,000 head feedlot in Garden City, KS
15,000 head farrow to finish Hog Operation in Guyman, OK
The Alamo in San Antonio, TX
King Ranch in Kingsville, TX
Agrilife Mariculture Research Facility (Shrimp & Sea Urchin) in Port Aransas, TX
Texas A&M Algea Research (used of Biofuels) in Corpus Christi, TX
Fort Worth Stockyards in Fort Worth, TX
Cowboy Coliseum Stockyard Rodeo in Fort Worth, TX
Cowboys Stadium Tour in Dallas, TX
The cost of the trip will depend on the number of students and adults that sign up. There is a $100 non-refundable enrollment fee that is due Nov. 16th. (We are limited to 56 seats on the bus.) Therefore we will fill the bus on a first come first serve basis. Once we complete the enrollment period I will know how many people will be traveling in order to split the cost evenly.
